Vinyet is a cropped modular butterfly-shaped sweater with a mosaic design on both sides. Cotton Flambé adds a rustic appearance.

This design has a flat modular construction, starting bottom-up with the 2 front & back rectangles in a 3-color mosaic pattern. Then, main body and sleeves are worked sideways in main color (MC) by picking up the stitches on the sides of the mosaic rectangle and adding extra stitches to shape the neck. Finally, flanks and sleeves are seamed, and hem, cuffs, and neckline are finished by an i-cord.

Mosaic knitting creates a condensed fabric, and patterns typically suggest using a larger needle size for this part. However, in this pattern I recommend maintaining the same needle size to boost the butterfly shape.
