You might not have realized that sketch drawing of DaVinci’s had a name. You know the one - of the man stretched out in a circle with two sets of arms and legs. The image is emblematic of the blend of art and science that produced The Renaissance, something knitting does today.
The cable on the front (or side, depending how you wear it) makes me think of that drawing. It’s a large twist, but only one involved in the entire hat. Lace adds detail around the bottom and crown with a field of reverse stockinette between.
- Pattern is written in total and includes three charts for the lace in addition to the written instructions. Two are repeated around the hat; the middle one just once to make the cable on the front.
- This is meant to be a short beanie. You can make it longer by working the brim section for more rows.
- Sample is size M and used about 150 yards.
- Offered in three sizes - S (17”), M (20.5”), L (24”)
ERRATA: If you have a version downloaded before Jan 2019, note the following:
- Row 37 should read P7 rather than P5.
