This is a PDF knit pattern to make a braided cable hat in either light bulky (such as Malabrigo Mecha) or super bulky (such as Malabrigo Rasta) yarn. Adult size only in light bulky version.

Light Bulky Knitting Needles:
Designed for Malabrigo Mecha
US #6 (4 mm) 16” (40 cm) circular knitting needle, or size needed to obtain gauge
US #8 (5 mm) 16” (40 cm) circular knitting needle
A set of DPNs/shorties (any size close to size used for body will work), or use magic loop method

Super Bulky Knitting Needles:
Designed for Malabrigo Rasta
US #11 (8 mm) 16” (40 cm) circular knitting needle, or size needed to obtain gauge
US #13 (9 mm) 16” (40 cm) circular knitting needle
A set of DPNs/shorties (any size close to size used for body will work), or use magic loop method
