Pricing update: I have increased my prices to more accurately represent the work that has gone into the making of my patterns. All my patterns have increased in prices, however my newer designs have increased more than my old ones, as I feel I have learned a lot over the years and the quality of my newer designs is higher. The price listed reflects what I believe is fair for the work put into the design, however I understand that the price increases may be inaccessible to some and am offering some tiered discounts for those that need them.

A “Choose What You Pay” model is available for this pattern, allowing both financial accessibility and fair pricing. The buyer may pay what they are able while still valuing the hard work invested to create this design. Use the codes below in order to pay the price listed after each. The Waffle Head Wrap is a cute little head band/ head wrap knit in the waffle stitch for some fun texture! Pick one of your favourite DK weight yarns and knit up this adorable little head wrap!! You could wear it as a headband, head wrap, hair tie, bag tie, mini scarf, pet scarf, you name it!

Size:
Small Width - approx. 2.5 inch / 6.25 cm width
Large Width - approx. 3.5 inch / 8.75 cm width
The length is made to measure, so you can make it to fit your head/project measurements. My sample was about 28 inches / 70 cm, to fit a 23” head circumference. You will need about 6 inches / 15 cm on either end for the tie part of the head wrap, plus enough length to wrap around your head with some negative ease (~20-30% negative ease is recommended).

Note: The size of your project may vary a little depending on your gauge/tension and the stretchiness and drape of your yarn, but it should be close to this if your gauge matches.

Needles recommended:
4.5 mm / US 7 / UK 7 - circular needles with 16 inch / 40 cm or longer cord

Note: You may need other size needles to meet gauge.

Gauge:
21 sts x 29 rows = 4 x 4 inches / 20 x 20 cm
Blocked, worked flat in waffle stitch, unstretched.

Note: This gauge is rough, as it is extrapolated from the width of the head wrap. If you are somewhere around this for your stitch gauge you should be fine, the row count doesn’t really matter as you are making it to measure!

Yarn recommended:
Any colour of DK weight yarn! I used Plush DK (246 yds/100g) from Skein and the Stitch for my Small Width sample, in the colourway ‘Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story’ from her Hamilton Collection! I used Dove DK (246 yds/100g) from Treehouse Knits for my Large Width sample, in the colourway Drift. You don’t need much yardage for this design, so this is a great way to use up some leftovers from other projects!

Yardage required:
~20-40 g of DK weight yard, depending on size made and intended use (headband/bag wrap/mini scarf/etc)

My Small Width sample used about 25g and my Large Width sample used about 35g.

Note: Yardage is an approximation and is calculated using the recommended size and gauge. Yardage can vary depending on your gauge and knitting, so I always recommend having a little bit extra in case you require more yardage.
