Wagner
Details
Wagner is a small, triangular, neckerchief knitted in your choice of three different weights of yarns, fingering, sport, or DK. In the four samples photographed the yellow neckerchief is the fingering weight, the red is the sport weight, and the lilac and dark blue are both DK weight. This project could definitely be a stash buster as well as a quick knit with the center panel motif adding in just enough spice to keep it engaging. You will need at least 100g of yarn in either weight to complete this project so options won’t be limited..
Finished Measurements
Fingering weight neckerchief: 46.5” (118 cm) wide x 17.75” (45 cm) deep

Yardage Requirements
These are just approximations. Total yardage will depend on your yarn choice and your gauge. I would recommend 100g of your choice of fingering, sport, or DK weight yarn.
Fingering weight: approx. 388-400 yds
Sport weight : approx. 352-370 yds
DK weight: (lilac) approx. 220-240 yds
DK weight (dark blue) approx. 224-320 yds
Yarn Substitutions
I designed Wagner several years ago but set it aside. I enjoyed my neckerchief so much I knitted it up in several different weight yarns. Once I made the decision to publish this pattern, sadly the two DK weight yarns were discontinued but I have a few great substitutions.
Snowdrop by Wonderland Yarn is out of production, an excellent substitution would be Alice or Lory in their beautiful tonal colorways by the same company.
Haven by Shibui Knits is out of production and an excellent match would be McIntosh Calm.
The knitter is encouraged to use any fingering, sport, or DK weight yarn they enjoy as long as they have at least 100g and their gauge is close. Solid or tonal yarns will show the pattern stitch beautifully and animal fibers especially wool will enhance stitch definition.
