I wanted to design a sweater that I could wear as an outer layer for wintry activities, so it would keep me toasty warm but be nice and breathable. Enter Walden!

Walden comes with a German translation thanks to one of my lovely testers who wishes to stay anonymous!

Walden has a nature inspired colourwork yoke and a cozy, outdoorsy fit perfect for an outer layer. For a more regular fit make sure to size down.

The sweater is knit top-down seamlessly, starting at the top of the yoke where sts are picked up for the tall collar. This adds a bit of structure to the neckline so it won’t stretch out. The sweater has short rows to bring up the back of the neck, and the pattern features optional bust darts as well. The body is straight and it’s easy to modify to the desired length. All edgings are worked in 2x2-ribbing. There are three options for sleeve length included, so that you can get the perfect fit for your arms.

The sweater is meant to be worn with positive ease for an outer layer garment. Choose a size with approx. 8” / 22 cm ease at the bust circumference. If you want a more regular indoorsy fit, size down.
