Eye-catching elongated stitches, worked into cable crossings, adorn this cowl like rows of delicate flowers. The cabled petals float on top of the colour gradation of the yarn, providing a pleasing texture. Rolled edges with a gentle 2x2 Rib create symmetry and make this neckwarmer easy to wear.

Worked in the round, the stockinette, rib, and cable cross patterning create visual interest, particularly striking in a colour-gradient yarn. Elongated stitches are worked with extra wraps around the needle. When dropped, the lengthened loop crosses over stitches and rows to create the petals and extend the colour. Options are provided for depth and circumference to make best use of yardage.

This knitting pattern includes detailed written directions, chart and written charted instructions, modeled images and photographed flat, and substitution notes.

Substitution Notes
Chroma Worsted is a single-ply, colour-transitioning yarn with a hand-spun look. The colours move gently through a single ply, creating subtly blended and shaded sections. Look for a similar weight yarn in a fiber that’s comfortable around the neck. Most worsted-weight yarns will substitute well, creating a different, yet attractive effect if in a solid colour.
