SKILL LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE
The body of the blanket is created using only different half double crochet stitches, but the texture of the ‘heart“ part is made with alternating hdc in third and front loops.

COLOR CHANGE
You will alternate between C1, C2 and/or C3 in each row (except for the first two and the last two rows) of the body. I suggest you work color changes using bobbins or different yarn balls, since carrying the yarn along the row would be visible.

YARN WEIGTH: #5 Chunky / Bulky. I used beautiful Hayfield Bonus Chunky Tweed in following colors:

C1: 568 Grape, approximately 500 m (546.8 yds) - 4 skeins
C2: 814 Light Grey Mix, approximately 380 m (415.6 yds) - 3 skeins
C3: 790 Dark Grey Mix, approximately 380 m (415.6 yds) - 3 skeins

HOOK: 7 mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge

GAUGE: 11 sts x 8 rows of hdc BLO = 10 cm (4’’) before blocking

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Before blocking blanket is approximately: 95 / 37.4’’ wide and 137 cm / 54’’ long

CONSTRUCTION
The Body of the Blanket is worked widthwise, flat, in rows, in one piece. The border is worked in rounds, joined with slip stitch.
