Pattern Description from Cast On, August-October 2009: “These toe-up socks feature a lace pattern which looks like a wasp. Each section of lace is separated by a column of slipped stitches. The pattern is written for an extra long sock which requires you to increase the stitches periodically to accommodate the shape of the calf. A shorter version could be worked as well. The Wasp Wing pattern is worked on the instep as well as the cuff. To convert the pattern to the cuff, two additional stitches are added. The pattern recommends using one circular needle since it is easier to work Judy’s Magic Cast-On with this type of needle but double pointed needles or two circular needles could be used as well.”
