This pattern is designed for yarn shop Knitty City in NYC.

Watermelon Top is a cropped and very loose fitted top/pullover with very wide sleeves.
It is knitted flat and sideways from sleeve to sleeve with a waist opening in the middle. After the knitting is done, you are going to fold the piece and seam the shoulders together.

We recommend that you wear a colorful singlet under your Watermelon Top. You can dress it up with a pencil skirt or dress it down with a pair of boyfriend jeans.

Since this knitted with an aran cotton, it is perfect for transitional weather.

This pattern was inspired by a watermelon drink that matched the colors of our Lang Sol Degrade color way 65. We posted a picture of it on Knitty City’s Instagram feed and it sparked an idea!

Happy knitting!
