Wave and Dimple Kimono
Interweave SKU: EP2102
This sweater is worked in two pieces. The upper section is knitted from wrist to wrist, and the lower section is knitted from the hem up.
Pattern Description from Interweave Knits, Winter 2009:
Sharon Shoji works the Wave and Dimple Kimono in two pieces - an upper body worked from cuff to cuff, and a lower body worked from the hem up. The closely set cables of this fabric have a secret: Twelve stitches are reduced to six for the crossings, creating a gentle dimple above and below the twist.
Finished Size: 47½ (53½, 60)“ bust circumference, to fit sizes 33–42 (39–48, 46–55)”. Sweater shown measures 47½“, modeled on 34” actual bust.
Yarn Trendsetter Yarns Merino VIII (100% superwash merino; 98 yd [90 m]/50 g): #7440 dark teal, 17 (19, 23) balls.
Needles Size 8 (5 mm): 29–36” circular (cir), depending on size. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Markers (m); cable needle (cn); coil-less safety pins; stitch holders; tapestry needle.

- When binding off for the neck shaping, slip the first stitch at the beginning of the row, rather than working it.
