Wavebreaker Hat and Mitts
Pay What Works: In an effort to find a balance between more financial accessibility and sustainable pricing, I now offer a “Pay What Works” model. This allows for financial flexibility while still valuing and respecting the work and energy I and others provide in the making of this pattern. The price shown on Ravelry is the “true” value of the pattern that best reflects the work put into creating this design.
To purchase the pattern at a price point that is more accessible to you, use the coupon code at checkout listed next to the price point. The prices indicate the price you will pay, not the discount amount. No coupon code is needed for the highest price point.

The Wave Breaker Hat & Mitts embody that moment when ripples swirl and the water calms. The motif takes inspiration from the Ngāru (wave) motif in traditional Māori designs. Within this design, the swirls reproduce the ripples caused by the canoe as it travels through the water.
These quick knits come together using three colors of sport-weight wool. Solid colors work best for this exercise in stranded knitting.
In this chaotic time, the Wave Breaker hat and mitts cuddle you into that peaceful space where the only waves are gentle ripples across the calm surface of the water. Select the colors of your ripples, download the pattern, and enjoy a peaceful afternoon of knitting.
This pattern was made in collaboration with Madelinetosh Yarns, as part of their Winter Holiday Collection. You can get the yarns for the pattern on their website, here.
