Wavy Entrelac
This pattern is exclusive to the Cookie A Sock Club until December 1, 2016.
Short rows are used extensively in this pattern, but there is no need to wrap stitches.
The Wavy Entrelac socks use what I call “lazy entrelac.” If you have knitted an entrelac pattern before, you’ll know that it involves a lot of knitting back and forth and picking up of stitches. This stitch pattern is also worked back and forth, but there is no picking up of stitches involved. Instead, “lazy” short rows are used, i.e. short rows that are worked back and forth but without any wrapping or picking up of wraps. This forms a wavy sort of alternating directional diamond pattern that I find mesmerizing.
Yarn:
Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock (80% superwash merino, 20% nylon; 430 yards; 100g; shown in Winter Waves)
Note this yarn is a special set created especially for the sock club. It is split into thirds, with each partial skein dyed a different color.
