Weekend sweater is knitted from the bottom up with a split in the ribbing. The back piece rib is a bit longer than the front piece rib. If you like you may knit it without this split, it is written how to do that in the pattern.
The sleeves are worked by picking up stitches from the armhole and you knit the sleeve top down. No sewing.
