Weizen
WEIZEN is the German word for wheat. Do you remember the WHEATandCHAFF cowl, which I designed last year? Surprisingly it had only one (1!) pattern round, considering that straight brioche knitting isn´t a pattern… WEIZEN hat is just another one-round-wonder. That´s so much fun!
Due to the regular increases and decreases WEIZEN hat is very stretchy and well-fitting at the same time.
As you should know the brioche pattern is only worked every 8 rounds, giving you a chance to get into a rhythm. Although it looks like cabled brioche stitches, you only have to knit increases and decreases. There is no need for a cable needle. You can do it, knitters!

I have raveled the crown several times, trying to find a neat solution without “br4stdec”, which is rather tricky for many knitters… and because I ´d like to keep the pattern simple, too.
The WEIZEN hat can be knit in multiple sizes by changing number of stitches, needle size and gauge; Block the finished cap over a steep-sided bowl or other head-shaped form to smooth the crown.
Directions are given for three sizes, additionally by changing needle size and gauge you can knit a smaller or larger size.
