Welted Fidget Toy
I find comfort in knitting and design. I love challenging my brain to create new things while simultaneously finding comfort in creating stitches. I also love items with a purpose: functional crafts are my jam. I love having a small piece of knitting with me, as it’s great for storing locking stitch markers. This pocket-sized project is great for using up leftover yarn while practicing a few skills: squishy garter stitch, smooth stockinette welts and a tidy attached icord bind-off.
YARN
DK weight yarn, or fingering weight yarn held double.
Each toy uses less than 15 g total.
Knit Picks Swish DK, 100% Superwash Merino, 123 yd / 112 m per 50 g, or similar DK weight yarn. www.knitpicks.com
Sample yarn:
MC: Knit Picks Swish DK, colorway Dove Heather, 9.5 yd / 8.7 m (4 g)
CC: Scrap DK weight yarn, 12.3 yd / 11.2 m (5 g)
Each welt uses approximately 1.5 g.
Icord bind-off uses approximately 3 g.
