In 2020, I started a tradition of publishing an annual pattern on Christmas socks and mittens. This year’s mittens are felted. They are thick, warm, and squishy ‒ also, this is a quick and fun knit. If you have scraps of wool yarn in your stash, yarn that can be felted, this is an excellent opportunity to use some of it.
You can use both sport/fingering (2-ply wool yarn) like Rauma Finullgarn held double, and thicker yarn such as Rauma Vams or Sandnes Fritidsgarn. Note: Bleached white does not felt, and dyed black felt little, and differently than other colors.

Size: Adult S (M/L)

YARN: Rauma Finullgarn (2 ply yarn, 192 yd/1.76 oz 175 m/50 g), held double
You will need a main color (Color 1) and a contrasting color (Color 2).

OTHER YARN SUGGESTIONS
2-ply yarn held double, such as: 2-tr Sjølingstadgarn, Ask wool yarn from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk, or another similar wool yarn that can be felted.
Thicker yarn: (use single thread): Rauma Vams, Sandnes Fritidsgarn or similar yarn. Note: If you use the thicker yarn, you only need half the lengths stated under “Yarn” above.

I 2020 startet jeg en tradisjon med å utgi oppskrift på julesokker og votter. Året 2023 er det tovede, tykke og gode votter.
De er raske og morsomme å strikke. Har du garnrester i ull som kan toves, så er dette en gylden anledning til å få brukt noe av det. Du kan bruke både dobbel tråd i finulltykkelse (2-tråds ullgarn) og/eller tykkere garn som Rauma Vams eller Sandnes Fritidsgarn. Merk: Bleket hvitt tover ikke, og farget svart tover lite/annerledes enn andre farger.
