For this cardigan, I wanted something you would just throw on whenever you need a little extra warmth. Something stylish and pretty at the same time, but not too fussy.

The main body is worked in stockinette stitch, highlighted by lace panels that travel halfway down the fronts and back of cardigan, and echoed on the bottom half of the sleeves.

Worked seamlessly from the top down, the lace panels require a bit more attention, but are worth it! Set-in sleeves give a streamlined look and the light weight will have you reaching for this piece again and again.

This is an intermediate/advanced pattern, you need to be comfortable with working increases/decreases as well as follow a lace pattern at the same time. You also need to be able to do short rows and pick up stitches.

Finished Sizes: To fit sizes 34 (36, 38, 40, 42)(44, 46, 48, 50)” / 86.5 (91.5, 96.5, 101.5, 106.5)(112, 117, 122, 127) cm bust circumference.

Cardigan is intended to be worn with 0 – 2” of positive ease, the fronts bands are meant to add extra ease in the front.

Yarn: DyeforWool BFL Sock – 100% superwash wool, 437 yds / 400 m per 3.53 oz / 100 g - 3 (3, 4, 4, 4)(5, 5, 5, 6) skeins or approx 1095 (1215, 1350, 1500, 1650)(1815, 1895, 2085, 2295) yds / 995 (1105, 1230, 1365, 1500)(1650, 1725, 1895, 2090) m of a fingering weight yarn

Gauge: 24 sts & 34 rows = 4” / 10 cm in stockinette stitch on size US 4 / 3.5 mm needles
22 sts & 34 row = 4” / 10 cm in Gothic Arches pattern on size US 4 / 3.5 mm needles

Needles: Size US 3 & 4 / 3.25 & 3.5 mm 40” circular, or size needed to obtain gauge
(Note: for sleeves you may wish to use size 4 / 3.5 mm dpns for working in the round.)

Notions: 10 stitch markers (at least 2 different colors), tapestry needle

Pattern Notes

• Cardigan is worked from the top down. The back of the sweater is worked first, both fronts are picked up and worked at the same time. Then the fronts and back are joined and worked down to the hip.
• Set-in sleeves are picked up, using short rows to create the cap, then worked in the round to the cuff. Front bands and collar are picked up and worked, and lastly a hem is added.
