It is said that meadowlarks are heard first, then seen.

Western Meadowlark begins flat with intarsia creating a brightly colored breast. Stitches are then joined in the round to shape the tail.

The head is worked flat in two pieces with stranded knitting to create the stripes on top. Wings are knit separately and seamed to the body. Embroidery adds the final, finishing touches to this lovely, realistic bird. Finished object is 7” long and 3.5 inches wide.
