Western Slope Beanie
The Western Slope Beanie features a gorgeous braided cable that sits between a squishy, stretchy rib pattern with just the perfect amount of slouch. This beanie is both cozy and stylish and will fit into anyone’s wardrobe. Wear it on your next trek through your favorite mountain trail.
Materials:
Yarn: Approximately 210 (245) yards / 192 (224) metres of a DK weight alpaca or wool yarn. Sample shown in Malabrigo Arroyo yarn, as well as local DK alpaca yarn.
Needles: US size 6 (4.00 mm) 16” / 40cm circular needles and DPNs, or size needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge: 25 sts / 32 rows = 4” / 10 cm in Western Rib stitch pattern on US6 / 4.00 mm needles.
Notions: yarn needle, stitch markers, cable needle
Size: The instructions are written for two sizes: adult medium (21” / 53cm) and adult large (23” / 58cm).
Pattern Notes: The pattern includes optional instructions for a no-cable western rib version for a simpler look. Necessary skills include knit and purl, working increases and decreases, reading charts, working cables. The pattern uses both written and charted instructions. Please read through the entire pattern to familiarize yourself with its construction before starting to knit.
