Wetland is a double-knit reversible scarf knitted with an original stitch pattern, charted specifically for this design.

Double knitting is a technique that creates reversible fabric, with the pattern on one side typically being the reverse of the pattern on the flip side. Both the right and the wrong sides are worked simultaneously on the same set of needles, with front stitches (the ones that are facing you) always worked in stockinette as knits and the back stitches (those that are facing away from you) always worked in reversed stockinette as purls. The color stitch pattern itself is what holds the two sides together in a quilt-like fashion.

Errata
During the main scarf portion, every 2 to 4 rows, a stitch at random in worked in reverse colours. This helps to keep the fabric sandwiched together so that the layers are kind of quilted. So, on such a row you would switch your dark and lift colours for just that one stitch.
