This is a pattern for a knitted and felted whale shark. The pattern is for intermediate knitters and is worked in stockinette; you should be familiar with knit (k), purl (p), increase (inc), decrease/k2tog, two color (stranded) knitting and knitting in the round.

The completed shark is about 15” nose to tail after felting. Gauge is not critical but knitting should be loose to allow for felting. The pattern as written uses one skein each of Ella Rae Classic wool in blue and white, plus a small amount of black; other wool yarns may be used but please do a test swatch to make sure they felt.

You will also need two 9mm safety eyes and polyester fiberfill.
