Wharfe Hat
This cosy little hat is knitted using one of my favourite cable patterns – a honeycomb design that reminds me of bees, honey and the gentle rhythm of nature. The interlocking circles feel full of meaning – a quiet nod to the circle of life, or simply circles of joy.
It’s a beautiful knit, perfect for gifting or keeping little ones warm with love and care stitched into every row.
CONSTRUCTION
Knitted flat in one piece from the bottom up with one seam.
TECHNIQUES USED
Cast on, knit, purl, simple cables, decreasing.
YARN
One 100g hank of WYS Bluefaced Leicester DK – Undyed
100% British Bluefaced Leicester wool, 225m/246yds per 100g

3.75mm and 4mm.

GAUGE (tension)
24 stitches and 24 rows to 10cm/4ins square over cable pattern. I obtained this gauge with 4mm needles.
It is important to obtain the correct gauge so do work a swatch before you start the pattern and change your needle size to achieve the correct gauge if you need to.
