Whatknot
This simple little hat is worked in the round from the bottom up. If you’re not sure what size to make, I’d suggest going up a size, as hats are worn with some negative ease and babies grow quickly! It’s a good idea to read the whole pattern before you begin.
Yarn: 
Fingering Weight: 70 (90, 120, 160) yards
Needles: 
dpns or longer circular needle for magic loop method. 
US3 /3.25mm circular needle and US4 /3.5mm circular needle.
Notions: 
Tapestry needle, 6 stitch markers.
Sizing: 
Instructions are given for preemie size, with (small baby, older baby and toddler) sizes in parentheses.
To fit head circ. 
13 (14-15, 16-17, 18-19) inches / 33 (36-38, 40-44, 46-49) cm.
Choose a size with approximately 1 - 2 inches / 3 - 5cm of negative ease at the brim.
Gauge: 
26 st & 36 rows per 4 inches / 10 cm in stocking stitch on smaller needle (adjust needle size if necessary to get gauge.)
