WHELDRAKE
Light and warm, this rectangular wrap has a central panel which is knitted from corner to corner, and traversed by a Vikkel braid. Stitches are then picked up and the ribbed border is worked on in the round. Wear it as a shawl, scarf or tucked around your shoulders in a modern capelet style.

YARN
Daughter of a Shepherd Hebridean & Zwartbles 4ply (4ply / fingering weight; 75% Hebridean wool, 25% Zwartbles wool; 400m / 437yds per 100g skein) x 4 skeins

TOOLS
• 3.75mm (UK 9 / US 5) circular needle, 150cm / 60” length
• Spare knitting needle in same size, of any length
• 4 stitch markers
• 2 locking stitch markers
• Tapestry needle

TENSION
17 sts and 44 rows to 10cm / 4” over garter stitch on 3.75mm needles after blocking.

PATTERN NOTES
Wheldrake is knit flat on the bias, beginning from a small cast-on, increasing to its widest point. A Vikkel braid is worked, before decreasing back down to create the rectangular shape. Stitches are then picked up in the yarn overs around the entire wrap and a ribbed border is applied.
