J. & P. Coats Knit-Cro-Sheen, 250-yd ball, 4 in white (all sizes)
Elastic, 1/8” wide, 2.5 yards

Gauge
Directions for the bottom are the same for all three sizes; only the gauge is different. Although the directions for the top include different stitch counts for each size, they are also dependent on differing gauges.

  • Size 6-8: 13 dc = 2”, 4 dc rows = 1.375” with no. 2 steel hook (2.25 mm, US B) and double strand of cotton
  • Size 10-12: 6 dc = 1”, 4 dc rows = 1.5” with no. 1 steel hook (2.75 mm, US C) and double strand of cotton
  • Size 14: 11 dc = 2”, 4 dc rows = 1.675” with no. 0 steel hook (3.25 mm, US D) and double strand of cotton

Note
Thread is held doubled throughout. Bottoms are worked from the top down in two pieces, then seamed. Double crochet is worked over elastic for the waistband and leg openings. The top is worked in two pieces, then joined with ties. Bottom and bra can be lined if desired; instructions are not included.
