White River was made for those who love slouchy beanies and have a love for fall and all things outdoors. I took inspiration from the White River in Indiana and how the trees in fall looked around it (Hence the name). I think this hat will suit everyone and every style imaginable and it is a perfect quick knit or gift knit.

The gauge for this pattern is 20 sts= 4” or 10 cm. It has 2 different sizes for different shapes of head and also it can be worn by both men and women. I used Diana from Malabrigo Yarn and while I loved the Bulky version of this pattern, I felt that doing another weight of yarn is more ideal especially for people, like myself, that overheat rather easy.

I only used one skein for this project so it is great fun and a quick knit. You will only need for the whole project 5 items and those are:

  • 1 skein of heavy DK or Worsted weight yarn
  • US Size 7 (4.5mm), 16” circular and a set of DPNs
  • Cable needle
  • Stitch markers
  • Darning needle
