Wild Horses Cardigan is worked from the top down with saddle shoulders and set-in sleeves. First, the shoulder sections are worked flat in stripes with increases that form a sloping shoulder. These stitches are placed on hold and later used for the neckline. Stitches are then picked up along each shoulder piece, while additional stitches are cast on for the back and front neckline, as well as steek stitches at each armhole and at centre front. The work is joined and worked in the round following the chart. At the bottom of the armhole, the steek stitches are bound off, and the body is worked straight down following the chart. Before finishing the body, the steek stitches are secured with a straight seam on each side, and the work is cut open along the centre stitch at both the armholes and centre front. The body is finished with a two-colour rib, completed with a single-colour I-cord. Stitches are picked up along the armhole and the sleeves are worked straight down, finished with two-colour rib and a single-colour I-cord. The held stitches from the shoulder sections are placed back on the needle, and stitches are picked up along the remaining neckline, which is finished in the same way as the body and sleeves. Solid-colour double-knitted button bands are worked along both fronts, with buttonholes incorporated on the right-hand side.

Wild Horses Cardigan strikkes oppefra og ned med saddelskuldre og isatte ærmer. Først strikkes skulderpartierne i striber og med udtagninger, der danner en skrånende skulder. Maskerne hviler og bruges senere i halsen. Herefter strikkes der masker op langs hvert skulderparti, samtidig med at der slås masker op i nakken og halsen samt til klippemasker ved hvert ærmegab og midt for. Arbejdet samles og strikkes rundt efter diagram. I bunden af ærmegabet sløjfes klippemaskerne, og kroppen strikkes videre lige ned efter diagram. Inden kroppen afsluttes, fæstnes klippemaskerne med en lige søm i hver side, og der klippes op langs midterste maske i både ærmegab og midt for. Kroppen afsluttes med en tofarvet ribkant, der afsluttes med en ensfarvet i-cord. Der strikkes masker op langs ærmegabet og ærmerne strikkes lige ned og afsluttes med tofarvet rib og en ensfarvet i-cord.
