I have always loved adding cute little flowers to my knits. Wild Rose Hat joins Wild Rose Cowl in my family of winter accessory patterns that share this cheerful flower motif. I am a bit obsessed with this bold graphic floral that reminds me of our provincial flower.

The Wild Rose Hat features stranded colourwork using two colours of yarn. It works up quickly and is so adorable with or without a fluffy faux fur pompom. I am always team pompom! ;)

WILD ROSE HAT at a glance:

  • 3 sizes

  • worked from the brim to top

  • charted colourwork motif

  • video technique links included

  • a speedy little project

  • The FGF Alpaca Cloud yarn I used (LOVE IT!) is a blown style with lots of fluff and is so soft and cozy. It is technically categorized as a sport weight, but because of the fluff, it fills in the spaces between the stitches and I achieved more of a DK/worsted weight gauge. Please make sure to swatch as I am sure you can get gauge using many different yarns.

  • have fun with your yarn choices! I added sequins to one of mine and it’s so cute!

  • a great scrappy pattern to use up your favourite bits of yarn

  • this pattern has been professionally tech edited by Melinda (Rhyflower Knits) and test knit by generous and enthusiastic knitters. THANK YOU ALL!
