Wild Swans at Coole mittens are based on the W.B. Yeats poem, “The Wild Swans at Coole.” The mittens are knit in the round from the bottom up. Cast on in contrasting colour before switching to the main colour for the ribbing. They, then increase to incorporate a thumb gusset, before stitches are placed aside for the thumb. The remainder of the mitten is completed before the top is grafted together. Then, the stitches for the thumb are placed back on DPNs, extra stitches are picked up and the thumb is worked in the round. These mittens are almost entirely charted, with different charts for each size. Hat pattern available to match!
