Wild Thrums
Thrummed mittens are a staple in Canadian knitting, specifically the island of Newfoundland. Bits of unspun fleece are knit into the fabric to create a coxy interior while also creating a fun texture on the exterior. These mittens play off that tradition while adding in some striping to mix things up. In addition, instructions are included for making and improvising on the traditional thrums. This pattern is one that will inspire you to not only knit thrummed mittens, but play with them!
