wildflower crown

This crown is stuffed with light jewelry wire
to help it keep a stable shape when you are
dancing or gathering wildflowers in the meadow.
It is so light and secure, you’ll forget you have it on!

the technical stuff
This pattern features little crochet flowers.
Size: Average adult head has circ of 22”. Child age 3 – 10 is 19.5”.
Yarns used: MC - Fingering weight wool such as:
Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift 25 g - 115 yds - 105 m,
100% wool, No. of balls: 1
CC1: Lace weight mohair such as: Rowan Kidsilk Haze,
25 g - 229 yds - 209 m, 70 % Mohair, 30 % silk. No of balls: 1
Tension/gauge: Choose yarn that gets about 28 sts = 4” in St stitch using US 2 or 2.75 mm needles with MC
Notions: A set of US 2 (2.75mm) dpns, a size US F crochet hook, tapestry needle, about 26” of craft or silver jewelry wire with a diameter of 0.6 mm, wire cutters.
For fun: Make 2 or 3 crowns & twist them together!
