“This exuberant Gauguin-inspired, over-sized cushion is a painting on wool. A palette of 18 colors expresses the passionate mix of tropical flora. The knitting is much easier than you might think; large blocks of color are knit in the multi-color detail is embroidered on after knitting using a large back stitch (or leaf stitch) and then the cushion front is felted. This impressive piece is a perfect fit in both classic and modern interiors.”

Knitpicks Wool of the Andes (100% Wool; 110yds (100m)/50g) in 18 colors: 2 skeins each of Carrot, Violet, Asparagus, Pumpkin and Tulip and 1 skein each of Mulled Wine, Daffodil, Chocolate, Wheat, Rain, Hush, Grass, Maple Syrup, Hollyberry, Hyacinth, Iron Ore, Cherry Blossom and Cranberry. Suggested needles are US 15 (10mm) 24”-32” Circular Needles. You will also need a Tapestry Needle, a 21” x 22.5” piece of sturdy fabric for the back of the cushion, a 7’2” x 5” matching or contrasting sturdy fabric for box section of cushion, a disposable razor, a washing machine for felting, and poly fiberfill or 4” foam cut to size.
