Summer has wistfully swept up her skirt of warmth and the cool fresh air of fall has ushered itself in on clear starry nights and crackling bonfires by the water. The lake by the timeworn White Pines is placid and still. Only the very first autumn leaves -ochre fading to rich chocolate- are flirting with the crisp autumn nights. Shyly, the maples hush their hues until October’s song is sung. Haybales are harvested. Vegetables are gathered in joyful arms. As the time of harvest arrives, so does a new beginning.

Sweater is worked from the top down, flat to start and then joined in the round at front when neckline shaping is completed. Remainder of the sweater is worked in the round.
