Willow Tea Room
New version now available! Completely re-edited with additional sizing added.
From pattern description: These toe-up anklets borrow their decorative elements from The Willow Tea Room in Glasgow, designed by Art Nouveau great Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Rosebud motifs from The Willow Tea Room’s leaded glass mirrors and doors sweep across the instep on a background of small lace grids inspired by the chair backs. Reflecting the organic asymmetry characteristic of Art Nouveau, the left and right socks have mirror-imaged toe shaping and instep patterning; arch shaping adds sensuous curvature. The twisted-stitch and garter rib lace provides an exceptionally stretchy fit. Garter stitch accents the mostly-stockinette heel back, and the instep rosebuds flow into an ankle-hugging ribbing completed with an eyelet-and-picot bind off.
