After working a blotchy-looking Victorian edging, I developed this reversible edging instead (no purl stitches!). Starting with 11 stitches, the stitch count increases by 1 every other row to a maximum of 16 stitches. Because the edging is so narrow, it can be blocked curved or straight. Upside down, this edging would make a cute crown for a child or doll!
The swatch is 1.5 inches at its widest at gauge.

Skills needed: cast on, knit, YO, k2tog and bind off in knit stitch.

Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.

24 yards of #10 crochet thread will make 10 inches of a Windblown Diamond strip in the stated gauge.
