There is a KAL for windbreak here. This KAL is aimed for those who already know the basics of knitting, but want to try a sweater for the first time! There will be “lessons” along the way on yarn choice, sizes, and how to change the pattern to fit your body. If you have already knit a couple sweaters, but want to learn more about making sweater that fits you in a flattering way, you will want to join!

As Winter becomes harsher, you need something to protect you from those icy winds. Something simple, easy to wear. Yet at the same time warm, dense, and, should the need arise, with a hood for emergencies!
(During the snowy photoshoot, this sweater was the winner for warmth. The hood piles up like a cowl and is very effective at keeping your neck warm… the other sweaters were not so much so. Once their photos were done, this one was the one to wear for the long walk back to the car!)

Beyond keeping you warm, this hoodie has a number of clever fitting details like six-point waist shaping, modified-rate raglan shaping for shoulders that fit (and look) almost like set in sleeves, and short rows at the back of the neck.
Thanks to the stockinette body, it is simple to modify the fit to suit your exact shape.

The actual size of the sweater is 30 (34, 38, 42, 46, 50)inches around the hips and bust, and 22.5 (26.5, 30.5, 34.5, 38.5, 42.5) inches around the waist.
You will need 6 (7, 8, 8, 9, 10) skeins of Malabrigo Worsted, or 1200 (1360, 1520, 1680, 1840, 2000) yards

Errata:
In the hood section: “row 74-91” should read “row 74-81” instead
