Windswept
Pattern No. 1 in the Year of Kaleidoscope Knitting 2020
Skill Level: Intermediate
Follow the ever-changing trace of the wind. Celebrate colour and flow with this long stole, all angles and planes and a coming-together.
Work both sides separately in a bias construction and with a constantly changing range of hues. A central motif brings the two sides together, creating a focal point for the piece.
This shawl pattern incorporates many—but not all—of the aspects of kaleidoscope knitting. A good introduction to kaleidoscope knitting, it is a doable (a.k.a. not-too-difficult) project for the average knitter and will result in a wearable shawl when done.
The finished piece uses approximately 775 m./847 yds. (1100 m./1203 yds.) of different yarns with an average weight of 325 m./355 yds. per 100 g.
