Windswept Shawl
Light, airy, soft, yet warm and with fabulous drape are best words to describe Windswept shawl.
In a shape of a large triangle with very subtle texture and simple yet lovely lace this shawl is just the thing to have with you wherever you are.
It goes perfectly with pretty much everything, a dress, a pair of jeans and a t-shirt and is big enough to wrap yourself in it whenever chilly breeze comes unexpectedly.
Windswept shawl features textured body and cable and lace border and an i-cord finish. First the body is knit starting with 2 cast on stitches, than the i-cord is applied to the top and stitches are picked up and then the border is knit.
The yarn used in the sample is a mix of cashmere and linen, but can be substituted with any other type of light fingering or even lace weight, preferably one that has plant fiber, silk or mohair to give it drape.
Adjusting the size is very easy and included in the instructions.
Instructions are charted only.
The pattern is fairly easy and the lace very simple and suited for knitters with some experience in lace knitting.
Yarn requirements for the size given (wingspan 76”; depth 46”): 4 full skeins of Jade Sapphire “Sylph”.
