I originally designed this as a water bottle sling to carry my Hawaiian Springs water on hikes in Hawai’i. It was shaped just like a wine bottle, so, obviously, it was my favorite! Well, now that we’re living in Germany, it just seemed like a natural evolution to Wine Bottle Cozy & Gift Bag.

The design really reminds me of all those bottles of wine my dad brought back from Europe with the woven coverings.

One of the most wonderful things about this bag? It’s reversible! Yup, it looks great both right-side-out AND inside-out. Score!

This is a totally beginner pattern with the slight challenge of the long and elegant treble crochet stitch. The sling strap for the water bottle cozy is an advanced beginner technique, but I’ve included a full photo tutorial to help along the way! Those new to crochet will enjoy the challenge and more experienced stitchers will love how quick these are to whip up!
