The stitch pattern Ellen selected as inspiration for Shirley’s fifth design-along looked like lovely wings, wings that she wanted to fly across my garment. It wasn’t until Ellen started knitting swatches that she discovered the best way to make that happen was to tip the fabric at an angle. This simple shift added excitement as well as the opportunity to create a wrapped cardigan that flatters most figures. Matching diagonal fronts to vertical sides took some doing and lots of trigonometry, but she is very pleased with how it has all worked out.
