Winter Bosque hat
The Winter Bosque Hat
is the fourth colourwork hat designed for Olann and by Elizabeth Greenfield.
This hat pattern is in homage to the vistas of northern New Mexico in autumn/winter. “Bosque” (BOHS-keh) is Spanish for ‘forest’ but is an English term in the Southwestern United States vernacular to describe the forests that adorn the riverbanks and floodplains. In New Mexico, the most prominent bosque is the cottonwoods that trim either side of the Rio Grande. The geometrical component and colours of the hat are loosely inspired by Spanish mission tile patterns.
