Every single year I have the same problem: the weather turns really cold and I want a new handmade jumper RIGHT AWAY! I never seem to be able to think ahead to start making it in while the sun is still shining in summer. Even as the leaves start to turn and fall, but the days are still warm, I’m still in denial. The Cold Snap Cardigan solves this problem nicely, it can be whipped up in a weekend holding the DK strands double. This cardigan, with its generous pockets became my wardrobe, it got worn with everything from dresses to pyjamas.

But I began to crave another version, a slightly lighter one. Winter is Coming has all the same elements and fit as the Cold Snap Cardigan but is a little bit lighter, using just one strand of DK weight yarn. Because of this it will take a little longer to work up but its still a pretty quick make. I’ve also added more size options in between the sizes as the smaller stitches made it possible.

A full range of fitting notes and alteration suggestions are given in the pamphlet.

This pattern is available as a pattern duo with the Cold Snap Cardigan.

Two file formats are available: the standard version is condensed and ideal for printing, the single column version works well on devices and can be printed for those who find the larger print easier to read.
