I can’t exactly tell you why, but I LOVE blackened colors! Which means that Lana Grossa Piuma makes my heart just burst with love! So, of course, it needed a special project! Our Winter Rainbows Hat and Cowl Kit is the perfect quick knit (maybe for the quickly approaching holidays?)! The colors just glide along the single cable and the cowl is just what we all need - a perfect indoor/outdoor cowl - nice and snug so it doesn’t get in the way while going about your day. Or for your inner cowl on those dreaded two-cowl days when you must wear all your knits to keep warm! If you prefer cowls that wrap, you’ll need another skein of Piuma.

SUPPLIES
2 Balls Lana Grossa Piuma (50 grams, 155 yards) – find kits at island-yarn.com
Size US 10 (6mm) and 10.5 (6.5mm) 16” Circular Needles and 10.5 (6.5mm) DPNs
Crochet hook and waste yarn for provisional cast on
Cable Needle
Darning needle for weaving in ends and grafting

GAUGE
12 sts = 4”, stockinette on size 10.5 needle

FINISHED SIZE
Hat = Women’s Medium 19” circumference, unstretched (will fit up to a 21”, but increase your needle size if you prefer it looser)
Cowl = 5” x 20” diameter

This pattern is a fully written pattern.  A large print version is available for those with aging eyes as well as a low-vision version with size 24 Arial Black Font which should also work well with screen readers.
All abbreviations have also been written out in the low-vision version to make it easier for users of screen readers.
