I love the impact of a dramatic stitch pattern; it can turn a simple piece into a statement. Winter Solstice is stunning in its simplicity, but features graphic horizontal bands of texture that invite the eye. Knitters and non-knitters alike will be intrigued by the composition of the stitch and how it’s created. (There’s no need to tell them how simple it really is—that can be our little secret.)

A top-down shoulder cozy worked in the round, Winter Solstice features elongated stitches that are created by wrapping the yarn around the needle multiple times. These stitches are twisted and knit together to create bold ridges of texture.
