The Winter Wheat Scarf is a cozy accessory that you’ll want to stay wrapped in during the colder days. It can be made as long and as large as desired, with my personal preference being to use as much yarn as possible, to fight the cold! This scarf has a long lace stitch pattern reminiscent of wheat stalks, and is ornamented with cheerful bobbles.

Construction
This scarf is worked lengthwise, starting with a ribbing section that is broken by a lace stitch pattern. Once the ribbing is completed, the lace pattern continues, and a different lace pattern is worked where there was ribbing. Once the length of the scarf is achieved, a matching ribbing section is worked on the other end.

Notes
While I technically used Aran weight yarn for this project, the gauge achieved is much closer to sport weight. If you are substituting yarn and want to achieve the same gauge, I would strongly suggest using sport weight yarn. The scarf can also be made with any fingering to heavy worsted weight. Gauge, yardage, and final size will vary.

Note on gauge: gauge is taken on the whole scarf, after blocking. The weight of the scarf will have an effect on the proportions of the scarf, stretching the row gauge and reducing the stitch gauge significantly compared to a small swatch. The opposite gauge (23 sts x 31 rows) is to be expected on a small swatch (approximately). Gauge isn’t crucial in this pattern and your gauge can differ. Make sure to plan enough yardage for the dimensions that you’re expecting to reach.

Le foulard Blé d’hiver est un accessoire douillet qui saura vous envelopper d’une douce chaleur durant les jours froids de l’hiver. Il est adaptable en longueur, largeur et la grosseur de la laine peut varier. Mon conseil : utiliser le plus de laine possible, afin de combattre le froid par la laine! Ce foulard est fait d’un point de dentelle qui rappelle des tiges de blé, et est orné de joyeuses nopes.

Les dimensions finales du foulard ainsi que l’échantillon peuvent varier. Il peut être tricoté avec des laines de poids super fin à moyen. L’échantillon, les mesures finales et le métrage requis différeront de ceux du prototype. Veuillez prévoir suffisamment de métrage pour obtenir les dimensions voulues.
