This toy is worked flat in pieces and seamed. The stitches are all simple but take your time with sewing up carefully for a neat finish.
Yarn used for the sample
Cygnet DK, 1 ball each in
• A 2033 Cloud
• B 0159 Flash
• C 1255 Saxe
• D 0208 White
• E 0184 Sunshine
• F 0432 Mocha
About the yarn
DK (8-ply), 298m per 100g ball, 100% acrylic
Tension
22 sts x 30 rows = 10 cm measured over St st (not essential)
Needles used
3.5mm straight
Other supplies
• Chenille needle
• Crochet hook
• A pair of 8mm & 6mm safety eyes
• 4 wooden beads
• Oddment of dark brown 4-ply (fingering) yarn
• Toy stuffing
• Fabric glue
• Pink pastel or blush
Practical tips
• Leave long ends at the beginning and end for sewing.
• Sew the seam with RS facing, using mattress stitch.
• If you do not wish to use safety eyes, embroider eyes with black yarn.
