A pointy wizard’s hat or a toque with a turned up cuff. Worked in the round, it decreases to a sharp-ish point.

The pattern doesn’t get into stripe order, it’s just the straight pattern. When I change colors, I knit all the stitches in the first row of any new color, instead of working in pattern. This keeps the color changes sharp. Just make sure not to do it too close together too often (lots of 1-2 row stripes, for instance) or else the ribbing looses its ability to compensate.
