Wolf Moon is one of several names for the full moon that occurs on January 1, 2018. It’s sometimes referred to as the Old Moon, or the Moon after Yule, or more ominously, the Hunger Moon. Wolf Moon is a crescent-shaped shawl featuring a geometric lace pattern inspired by wolf tracks crisscrossing a snow-covered field. It is edged with a ribbed border than can be worked in a twisted rib if desired. The twisted rib gives greater stitch definition, but it does take a little more time.

This pattern includes both charts and written line-by-line instructions.

The grey sample shawl was worked in Robin and Wren Yarn’s Merino Fingering Singles in “Morning Fog” and is a size small. The dark green sample shawl was worked in Malabrigo Yarn’s Sock in “Turner” and is also a size small.
