Women's Diamonds Mitts
Skill Level: Intermediate
Use up your stash with this five color fingerless mittens. Small amounts of each color mean you can make a couple sets of gloves from just one skein of each color.
The intricate pattern may look difficult, but it’s actually quite easy.
The pattern comes in three sizes to fit most women’s hands.
(All measured around the palm right below where fingers meet.
Small Mitts: 7.5” around x 6.5 tall
Medium Mitts: 8” around x 7” tall
Large Mitts: 8.5” around x 7.5 tall
The pattern uses Fair Isle crochet which creates a double thick fabric for extra warmth.
Fair Isle is a technique where two colors are used in any particular row to create pictures or designs in your project. Don’t know how to do Fair Isle? Don’t worry, there is an extensive photo tutorial section that will not only teach you how to create Fair Isle but also covers all of this:
- Color Changing throughout the mittens including at the round join.
- Catching the yarn to create short floats.
- How to keep your yarn untangled.
- How to keep your seam straight and invisible on your mitts.
The mitts include full written instructions as well as a color chart for the Fair Isle portion.

Just a quick reminder, this is my original design (and tutorials) and they are not to be copied and reproduced for monetary purposes, I’d love if you made as many as you liked for yourself or to give as gifts, or even sell for profit (see store policies for more on this), but please do not make copies of the pattern or tutorials.
